Gridface
I launched this music Webzine in March, 1996. Since then I’ve written and posted over 400 reviews spanning techno, electronica, hip-hop, dub, and more. I’ve also covered live shows and conducted interviews with musicians including Monolake, Funckarma, and Kettel. The site uses Movable Type for content management.
Veezyon Beta
As a consultant for RedfishGroup, I built a research video site using the Django Python framework. I designed an object model, created interfaces for taking notes and rating videos, and wrote a great many custom views, HTML templates, and Ajax functions. The end result is an application with functionality similar to big Web 2.0 social sites, but coded on a budget in just a few months.
New Mexico Courts
At the Judicial Information Division where I’m currently employed, I built an internal Web application for hearing officers to create, print, and docket restraining orders for transfer to law enforcement using Spring, Tapestry, and iBatis Java/J2EE frameworks. I met directly with end users at district courts for requirements gathering. I also worked on a calendaring application for judges and a case search engine used by clerks and the general public.
Envision Utility Software
For four years at Envision, I developed, maintained, and supported an extensive Extranet application with change management, call support, and accounting functionality. I rewrote the site (which was originally developed in ColdFusion) using Apache Cocoon, a Java and XML framework. I extended the site’s Oracle database, designing tables and views and writing SQL. I helped tie the ticket system to a StarTeam code repository to generate build scripts for software releases.
s://kimo
I created a new e-commerce site for this music store using a heavily modified version of osCommerce. The main goal was to reproduce the client’s existing system for maintaining inventory and processing back-orders. I also added the ability to upload audio files, take email orders, and search and sort by artist. The site was PHP with a MySQL database.
BiosGroup, Inc.
While a full-time Web developer at BiosGroup, I designed and coded an Extranet site. This site served as a collaborative space where employees, fellows, and clients exchanged ideas through threaded messages, file uploads, and an interactive calendar. I also redesigned BiosGroup’s Intranet and built several dynamic database-driven applications for it, and I worked on Web-based demos for Honda and Prowess Software.
Nambé
I coded and maintained Nambé’s commercial site from Jun. 1999 through Oct. 2000. Among my duties were scanning new product photos, configuring an e-commerce site, and writing an ordering system for outlet stores.
